Come to Church

About Our Church

The vision of Truth Mission Ministries of Jehovah is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel as people come to know Jesus.

We are others-focused! Everything we do is geared toward connecting with those who are far from God and helping them become followers of Jesus Christ! The heartbeat of Truth Mission Ministries is to see lives changed by the power of God's Spirit. We believe that every person has a God-given purpose inside of them. When God's Spirit moves on us, we move closer to God's Plan for our lives.
We realized that pastors, staff members, and volunteer leaders sometimes feel inspired but ineffective. We wanted to change that. Our annual Motion Conference, held in October, exists to equip and empower church leaders with practical tools to get the mission of Jesus Christ in motion. Our goal is to share resources, ideas, methods, systems, and processes that build healthy teams and grow healthy churches which in fact will reach the world

Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of TMM based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these biblical doctrines.

God we believe in One eternally existing God who created all things. God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, through the Holy Scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. He was raised from the dead and now by grace offers eternal life as a free gift to all who follow Christ. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

Water Baptism
We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name
in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized for the remission of our sins.

Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and developing the life characteristics produced by His indwelling are the privileges of all New Testament believers.

The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a Spirit-filled church and a bible-based church.

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

God and the Bible
We believe in the inspiration of the Old and New Testament Scriptures that we find in the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16). And we invite all believers to join us in continuing the restoration of the earliest and purest form of Christianity that we read about in the Bible. This means building all of our practices off of biblical patterns instead of relying on man-made traditions.

We believe in One God who exists as three persons - Father, Son, and Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:1-6).

Jesus Christ is complete in His humanity, His divinity, and His perfection. He is the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us, showing us the glory of the Father (John 1:14).

Why We Need A Savior
We are broken people. The Bible is clear that all who reach an accountable age have committed sin (Romans 3:23) and have therefore experienced a broken relationship with a holy God. Outside of that relationship, we are not experiencing the abundant life that God intends (John 10:10). We need a Savior.
And here is the good news which the Bible calls "Gospel." The fullness of my broken relationship with God and the abundant life He intends for me can only be restored through Jesus, who is both our holy God and a man who experienced everything we do (Hebrews 4:15), even becoming our own sin on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus was bodily crucified (Luke 23) and bodily resurrected (Luke 24). He did this for each of us - as a substitution of His life so that I could truly have mine. His death conquered sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). His resurrection conquered death (Hebrews 2:9-15). And in Him we are liberated from both.

How Do I Become A Christian?
Salvation and renewed relationship with God through Jesus is only offered by grace out of God's love (Romans 5:6-11; Ephesians 2:8-10). A person cannot be saved by his own good works, no matter how good they may be. One must recognize there is salvation in no other name (Acts 4:12), including their own.

God's grace must still be freely received by a believer who chooses to accept the gift on God's terms.

The hearing of the Word of God in an open heart produces a belief in Jesus as God and as the resurrected Savior of the world (Romans 10:17).

In acceptance of the grace, the Biblical pattern shows that such a faith is publicly confessed (Romans 10:8-10; 1 Timothy 6:13; Matthew 16:16; John 11:27).

A new commitment of repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) is a major component of the faith as well (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30).

And the acceptance of the message of grace is completed in baptism into Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-39). Baptism must be accompanied by genuine faith in the working of God (Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21), knowing that His power and not my own works are uniting me with Jesus (Titus 3:5-7; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27).

Once I am in Christ, I am a new creature (Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17) - born again by water and the Spirit (John 3:1-7) and raised with Jesus to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:1-7). Now my Christian journey has just begun. We are then called to "run with endurance the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1-3), remaining faithful until the end (Revelation 2:10).

The Christian Life
Now as those united to Jesus, the Christian walk truly begins. And so we devote ourselves to:

We gather every Lord's Day (Sunday) to honor our God through songs, prayer, the reading and discussion of His Word (1 Timothy 4:13; Acts 20:7), weekly sharing of the Lord's Communion Supper (Luke 22:17-20; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), and the giving back of a portion of that which He has given to us (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11). In keeping with the practices of the early church, our singing is a cappella (Ephesians 5:18-19; Colossians 3:15-17), and Christian males provide leadership for every form of worship in mixed assemblies (1 Timothy 2:8-15; 1 Corinthians 14:33-35). Your First Step is Sunday!
God has an incredible purpose for your life, and First Steps is designed to help you connect with that purpose. During First Steps, you will spend your time diving into what it looks like to follow Jesus, discover your purpose, connect to the church and then make a difference with your life.

Get Involved
First Steps happens every month in four consecutive Sundays, starting with Step One on the first Sunday of the month. We invite you to jump in at any time.

Step One happens the first Sunday of every month. You will hear the TMM story and find out what were all about. At the end, you will get a chance to become a member of this amazing family!

We believe everyone was created with a God-given purpose, and one of the reasons we exist as a church is to help you discover that purpose and get plugged in to it. Step Two happens the second Sunday of every month.

Explore the ministry focus of TMM and find out what makes us unique. We use Step Three to answer some important questions that youre probably already asking! Step Three happens the third Sunday of every month.

We want to get you connected to a team as quickly as possible because there's nothing as fulfilling as making a difference in someone else's life! Connect to the opportunities available at TMM to live out your purpose and serve others by using your gifts. Step Four happens the fourth Sunday of every month.

We believe that our faith in Jesus Christ, is expressed by calling on His Name, Jesus, in the waters of baptism.
Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life.

ATTEND A SERVICE: On any given scheduled service, we have the baptistry open for anyone who would like to get baptized after service.

Water baptism is a time of celebration and public declaration of new life in Christ. Bring your friends and family with you to one of our services so you can celebrate together.

If you ever get to a place in your life where you feel like something is missing, its probably a connection problem: you are disconnected from God and too connected to the world. Prayer and fasting can have a powerful impact on setting your life back on track.

The more time you spend with something or someone, the more confidence you build in it. The same is true for God. The more time you spend with God, the more your faith in Him will grow.

We would be honored to pray for you or someone you know. Our team prays for all the prayer requests we receive on a regular basis. We also want to hear about your praise report of what God is doing!

21 Days of Prayer is a time where we intentionally seek God every day in prayer as we believe for Him to move in powerful ways. From the beginning of TMM, we have made it a priority to seek God first in prayer. We do this collectively as a church in January we begin the new year the right way.

Reaching Our World
TMM missions exist to connect us with others as we partner together to build the Kingdom of God. Join us and help make a difference as we share in what God is doing locally, nationally, and around the world local Missions

Our first responsibility is right here in Soweto, Johanneburg. Through Local Missions we support and partner with local ministries to reach the people of our community.

Make an Impact
The generosity of the people of the church helps create more opportunities for people to experience a life-changing moment with Jesus. There is no greater impact we could make together.

Through our faithful giving, TMM will be making an eternal impact across its community , helping more people hear the life-giving message of Jesus.

If you would like to give by cash or check, you can make contact to our finance team for your offering to our church. These measures are temporary in light of the extraordinary circumstances we are facing. If you have questions, please call the church phone line at (074) 610 6545. God is good. He will be with us.

Who Are We?
Our desire and commitment is to
grow together as a community so we are
increasingly rooted in the life of Christ or Savior.

Have you seen the brokenness in the world around us? You don't have to look very hard to see the shattered relationships in our communities. It's a story told repeatedly through Hatred, Greed, and Violence. And we feel the brokenness in ourselves through our worries, our pain, the trouble in our personal relationships, and even the knowledge of our own failures. We long for healing, knowing that there should be something or someone to right the wrongs, to restore peace and joy, and to show us a better way to live. What we ultimately seek is Love. It is Belonging. It is Identity. It is Justice. It is Truth.
At the TMM, we do not claim to have all the answers or be able to provide everything your soul is longing for. But we are followers of the One who does claim to be "The Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 14:6)... the One whom the Bible claims "holds all things together" (Colossians 1:17)... the One who said that His mission was to "seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10)... the One who told us that He is "making all things new" (Revelation 21:5). Jesus does not claim to offer you an easy life. But He does say that when your life is lived in Him and through Him that it will be the most fulfilling life possible. You will find a Savior. And in that Savior, you will find Love. Belonging. Identity. Justice. Truth.

What is our mission at the TMM?
It is simply to be the community of people whose life, teaching, worship, service, and mission are lived out in imitation of Jesus Christ and His earliest community of followers - the church of the New Testament. In our teaching and preaching from the Bible, you will see the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life's races, nationalities, ages, languages, and socio-economic backgrounds - all seeing what they have in common: broken people in need of a Savior. And in Christ, they find the loving community they have been longing for.
